Expert tips on how to get that youthful glow on your big day! Prep ladies, it’s all about prep!
In my opinion, Michelle Field is the best MUA in the business. I’ve seen her work her magic brushes at many a wedding and each time I’m in awe at the results. She’s a true artist.
Her ‘Natural Bride’ look is the best I’ve seen. Seriously it’s amazing! She accentuates the best features all the while leaving a fresh and natural shine. Just fabulous!
Just like with your body and your hair, a great skincare regime before your big day is an essential component to creating that perfect glow once those brushes begin.
Michelle Field has a wealth of knowledge she has very kindly shared with me for all you future brides to enjoy. She educated all her brides on the importance of skincare and living a healthy lifestyle.
When should I start my prep? Anything from 8-6 months before.
For a bride, the main objective is to have assistance with redness, oil levels and hydration.
Redness is the first colour to be picked up on camera, there are many causes of redness i.e. broken capillaries, rosacea, medical etc.
The first thing I would say is to get yourself a good SPF I carry @skingredients Skin Shield SPF 50 and you won’t get any flashback, so is also suitable to wear on your wedding day.
Taking vitamin A&C will also help to rebuild the collagen from within.
Hydration of the skin is probably the quickest part of the skin to have assistance with, just like when we drink water we quench our thirst our skin can feel the benefit when we put something hydrating on it, i.e. dry skin is usually flaky, tight and it won’t reflect light back so therefore there is not enough oil on the surface of the skin to give it a sheen.
So what’s good for hydrating the skin Hyaluronic Acid and if your 50+ Glycolic Acid would be great for someone with dry more damaged skin and will also help with texture.
SPF is still key and vitamin A&C.
Oily textured skin is where you might find you will have trapped pores under the skin that can turn into a spot or lumps and bumps, so this is where you need to bring in your Acids rather than your exfoliator.
Acids are great because our skin is Acidic so when we put something Acidic on to the skin it understands it, using something like a Salicylic Acid and again this will help with texture.
We have so many great products on the market speck to your skin professional for what will best suit your skin.
So let’s name a few treatments that can help along the way but your skin specialist will be able to advise you on these.
-
Lasers: are a great way to help with any pigment, redness, scars or enlarged oil glands.
-
Caci: treatment will lift and tone the facial muscles and neck area whilst improving skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
-
LED: will help with acne, serotonin levels, redness, pigment and has huge advantages for skin healing.
-
Microneedling: helps with collagen and long term benefits of the skin.
I hope some of these tips will help all you lovely ladies to achieve your skin goals, again I am not a skin professional so please speak to your beautician/skin specialist.
